Looks like my personal blog underwent an error, so I ended up deleting everything and starting from scratch again. Eventually, I'll get that blessed website up. Be patient if you can, I'll continue blogging on Motorola-7 until then.

I'm a little annoyed at some engine troubles I'm experiencing lately. Might be age (I'm not that old, but yeah..), might be the neglecting habit I've come up with since Titania and I adopted the twins and now the new baby, but I don't feel all that well. One of Dr. Firebot's friends (an Acura Integra lady) told me to take a flight and get a full checkup at Houston auto repair, but I'd rather not for now. I don't have all that money to spend on travels abroad, even when it's about repairs. For now, a good oil change and a tune up of my systems will do, and Dr. Firebot is more than qualified for that kind of procedure. :) So I'll be okay.

As for my blogger friends, I will blog hop later. Sorry for inactivity guys, as you know, my life has gotten quite busier than before, especially with the last kid we adopted. 'Till later!

We adopted a 6 months old baby today

My girlfriend and I have had a very busy morning today. Our Leader Shotfire found a small robot baby between the trash corners off town and he was in serious conditions; the Leaders and our doctors rushed to cure the little one, and to find him a new family that would love and assist him. Since Titania and I only have two adopted kids, we decided to take the little one as well, 6 months old according to Dr. Firebot. Our twins were excited about the new brother, but need to be attentive now, as handling him could take some extra care

Our new son turns into a Chevy car, so Titania and I will be out to buy chevy accessories for him tomorrow. He's a gracile baby, at least for now... We hope to help him grow up into a strong, self-confident child. It's probably going to take long with him, but I'm sure about that.

P.S. Any suggestions on baby names? Titania and I are still choosing, hehe. :)

Tomorrow my other personal website, fulmine.retromuse.com, should be up and running. :D Finally, I would say! I've been lazy-ing around it and procrastinating for too long a time; now it's the right chance to bring it up and get to social networking through personal blogging.
I catch the occasion here to thank Jackie Prime for kindly accepting my hosting request to build a subdomain on his domain name. Don't worry, bud! I will take good care of it. ^^ And of course, I will continue updating Motorola-7.info as usual to entertain my good online friends.

Time to visit my blog friends' websites now. 'Till later folks!

Finally I get some time to update my blog! ^^ Hopefully, I will get some extra free time during January to start writing internal pages and samples of my work to show to you, not just blog post. So uhm, stay tuned for news. ;)

Today's entry is just a personal entry, so I hope you won't get too bored. ^^ You see, my girlfriend Titania did buy a pack of cheap rugs in bulk, and I'm glad she went wisely on money this time. I will forever wonder how can women be so careless when it comes to money spending... Granted, not ALL women are like that, but my girlfriend usually stands out. O_O She can spend something like $300 on clothes and cosmetics only! We have many expenses lately, especially with the kids growing up and needing school supplies and new blankets, so it was a nice surprise to see that she's finally understanding what the term 'family economy' means. The rugs were actually very cute, and the area rugs she bought are well matched with our bathroom style and furniture. Titania has a good taste for aesthetics, and for decorating our apartment with rugs, curtains, doors abbellishments and paintings. Actually, I let her take the most decisions when we plan to change something at home, because her 'sixth sense' is rarely wrong about aesthetical matches and color and/or texture blending. She might become someone at web graphics someday too if she want, ahah. The rugs she bought today just prove this skill of hers. Skill? Mmh, I feel like I haven't used the right word for it: should be talent perhaps, or gift. She hasn't developed any skills in the traditional sense, as in practicing or taking up a course in aesthetics: my girlfriend is just that, simply, intuitive person with very creative ideas to her mind. :) Oh, I'm so proud of her!

It's not rare that we start reading something for work, and it comes out useful for a bigger project as well. It happened to me today with a1articles.com, which I was using to get documentation to write my school essays. You see, I found the communications section from this free article directory particularly interesting, not just because I needed most of this information to write my essays, but also - and it's not less important! - because I accidentally discovered a priceless resource that would help our City Leaders to improve and possibly resolve many of the problems we're currently experiencing. A few examples:
the installment of VoIP services has always been seen with suspiciousness by one of our Leaders, and that led him to be blind in front of the advantages VoIP services would actually bring to our offices, since Robocity is getting huge enough to require some kind of efficient Intranet; another example could be the misunderstanding of the role of communication in Change Management. Now, I don't want to be a bad citizen who can do nothing better than criticize continuously, but I believe that some of our Leaders - one of them in particular - are too young to fully convey messages in a way that all citizens and us department managers can understand well; itìs not rare that we end up doing something that we weren't meant to do, and just because we understood one thing for another.
I hope the Leaders will accept my message without taking offense from my words. All I want is the best for them and for Robocity. :)

P.S. Sorry I forgot about this, but.. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!!! :D

Hello friends! How have you spent your Christmas days? :) I hope it was a joyful time for you, as much as it was for me. Too bad our internet services weren't up to it all time, but our Leaders are working toughly to get all of our computers with a good Internet connection once again. Titania and I had to switch to dial-up because the shared ADSL failed us, and the Leaders haven't managed to buy licenses for all the computers of the city. Though, they ensured us that the new dsl service will be working fully around mid January 2010, so we only got to keep patience until the setup is done. Personally anyway, I think American ISPs are much better than ours: like Copper.net: so fast, reliable, and supportive. Sometimes I wish we could get the connection from abroad instead of dealing with the hundreds out of thousands problems our ISPs always put on our shoulders. Usually they offer cheaper and more efficient connection, even for dial-up, while I must say I'm highly disappointed with our local services. No wonder people are often complaining about it, even online. Last night, Titania accessed our dial-up to try and use her webmail, and guess what? The pages in the browser didn't load! I contacted the Leaders and they said it was probably the LAN being overloaded again, and that we might keep getting this trouble until the ISP change is complete. I was so annoyed that I wanted to shout it out loud... but of course it's not our Leaders' fault, so we can only be patience until the switching is over. Hopefully sooner than they announced to us.. *sigh*

Yet another non-technology related entry, but you know by now, that Motorola-7.info has become my personal blog too. :) My other subdomain is not ready yet, so this one is working well for both purposes until now. Keep visiting, dear buddies!

So I was searching for Charlotte NC Apartments. Titania would gladly help me, but it seems like she's still too busy around the kids and her job, so I'm trying to choose wisely on my own. Apartments in Charlotte NC are not that expensive as we first thought; even so, I know my girlfriend can be extremely picky about apartments to rent. So yeah, Charlotte, NC Apartments : which one to choose?! It's tough to be her husband-to-be at times, LOL. ^_^''

Merry upcoming Christmas to everyone!

My apologies for not updating this website at all in the past days. My host previous server had been dealing with database errors for several days, and then they had to move to new servers, so I couldn't use my website at all for many days. Not too bad anyway, because I had a chance to concentrate on my work more. I must say that writing sample essays is a very rewarding job, and I'm glad I got chosen by the Robocity administration. :) The school director Scylla Eternity already promised me that my essay on Alternative Energy Sources would be published soon as we get the government funds. I'm proud of myself I must say. ;) So well, I hope to update this blog at least twice during this upcoming week. Please comment on my entries, I really need some feedback! Thank you.

Busy writing research papers

My application as a writer at the local school direction was accepted, and I'm proud to finally call myself a research paper writer. :) My job is to research topics relevant for the school students and teachers, and write papers about them, which will eventually get published and used by both teachers and students for their curricula.

Part of the writer's job is writing interesting research paper topics, which require attention, care, re-reading and grammar/spelling check, and the use of a dictionary at times, since we must keep in mind that our readers will be more likely to read a paper that looks professional without appearing too 'luxurious', but not too poor as well. Keeping a balance of these factors is important, and it's what makes our writing successful and readable by both students and teachers. :)

Primus' wife, Scylla, is helping me through this (she's a teacher) and hopefully I'll get my research papers published for the school library. I'll do my best to see this dream come true. Suggestions from you readers are welcome, especially if you're a professional writer already.

My application as a writer at the local school direction was accepted, and I’m proud to finally call myself a research paper writer. My job is to research topics relevant for the school students and teachers, and write papers about them, which will eventually get published and used by both teachers and students for their curricula.

Part of the writer’s job is writing interesting research paper topics, which require attention, care, re-reading and grammar/spelling check, and the use of a dictionary at times, since we must keep in mind that our readers will be more likely to read a paper that looks professional without appearing too ‘luxurious’, but not too poor as well. Keeping a balance of these factors is important, and it’s what makes our writing successful and readable by both students and teachers.

I bought this smooth metal beauty this morning at a local shop :D

and I'll be moving all of my files to this new laptop in the next days. :) That way, I'll be able to give my current laptop to my kids as a present. They deserve it, my little ones. ;)

My new laptop computer costed me about $550, but hey! it's ACER! so it's worth it all ;)

See you later, dudes.

Gmail is my favourite webmail :)

I have been using Gmail for years now, and it stays my favourite no matter the difficulties - sometimes it doesn't load well, but I believe it depends on the poor Wi-Fi connection at times. Why? you would ask. Well, in short words, these ones are the reasons why I wouldn't switch to another free webmail provider for nothing in the world :)

1) browser compatibility. Gmail gave me no trouble either when I use IE, Opera and Firefox. It's lightweight and it loads fast most of the times (see above for the exceptions);
2) simplicity of design. No Flash or Java applets, just pure HTML and images that don't lag the browser and the computer, and which makes readiblity much easier;
3) easy to organize all emails in labels/categories;
4) POP3 and forwarders importing. I can download all the emails I receive to my POP3 and forwarder accounts to my Gmail and read them all on only one webmail :) Also, Gmail allows me to send emails with my forwarders and POP3 addresses.

See why now? ^^ It an all-in-one-email-goodie :P Hehe.

Our beloved Leaders bought a new bus for the pack recently, and it arrived yesterday! It's awesome, hosting 20 seats and a bigger storage room. :)

Here's a picture of our new bus:

This new bus (well, it's a mini-van to be precise) is replacing our super old crappy bus of the '80s, and it's going to make the joy of our kids who take part in boyscouting activities. :) Thank you Leaders!

So, Titania and I finally managed to get our new LCD screen somewhat fixed, and we're enjoying watching our DVDs now. ^^ I'm still kind of upset at our seller, but we got a good product even though it's used, so never mind... Yeah.
Next step now, is buying a few Verbatim discs to record our family videos that are still on old WHS's. :) I really want to treasure these videos forever, and I know Titania thinks the same, so leaving them on WHS is a big NO-NO. Magnetic bands do degradate with time, while a DVD and/or CD discs last much longer. :) Especially the Verbatim brand. That's my best-buyer, really! All discs I got are Verbatim. Now I need some Verbatim CD-R and Verbatim DVD-R packs, so that I have a good supply for my weekly needs. Yeah, I'm the kind of father who takes videos and photos of his children every week, hehe. ^^

That's a picture of the type of pack I buy more often at the computer shops here. I like these smaller packages, because sometimes the discs work better than the bigger ones. :) These CD-R discs by Verbatim have a 700MB capacity, a LightScribe Surface and a speed up to 52x. Plus, they only cost $0.40 each (for a pack of 60 discs). Not bad really. ^^ I suggest this brand to all fathers like me, who make their children the protagonists of their weekly movies and photo galleries. ^_^

My girlfriend and I thought to have done a good purchase buying this "brand new" LCD screen...

... but it seems like our seller had different ideas about it. Know what?? He sold us a USED product instead of a new one!!! x( And he doesn't accept returns and paybacks!!

So Titania and I are considering buy Pixel Protector. We heard good stuff about this screen diagnostic tool, and we really need something to remove the screen burn from our "new" LCD screen. What still pisses me off is that the seller didn't tell us about the product being in these conditions already, and what we spent on it could as well be spent on a brand new LCD screen. :( You can trust me when I say that I will no longer buy from that shop!! I'm not saying the name because I don't want to be sued, but it really sucks.

Good thing that the kids won't care about the marks on the screen, and that we're going to get Pixel Protector to fix it as much as we can. Really.

Thinking about starting with article writing

I have been pondering, lately, if I shouldn't start writing online articles and then submit them to a Free Article Submission Service like pubarticles.com. Not that I'm a great writer, but I'm one who can focus on a specific subject and work through it until the end and eventually do a good job, useful to others and benefiting to myself. I have an idea so far of what Free Article Submission Service to submit to, and honestly I think it would help a lot with my writing skills, as well as increase my backlink count. Also, it's some good way to advertise for free and FREE chances should never be wasted. :)

→ What's your opinion about article writing? Does any of you have experience in this field and is willing to give me a few directions?

Thanks.

How long time since my last blog entry? Christmas holidays are coming soon, and my Titania had the nice idea for us to go out for a small holiday trip that lasted 3 days, to celebrate the upcoming feasts. Well, we just came home yesterday, and I must admit that I was delighted with the travel, the barbecue we had, the shopping time outside with the kids, everything. I will forever cherish these wonderful memories. :) Thanks, Titania dear! Thanks children!

So anyway, now that we're back home, Titania and I gotta start thinking of the Christmas presents to buy for our kids, who surely expect something from Santa like every year. ^^ Since we might buy online this time, we're checking out bargains and discounts on ShopWiki, as there are some shops that really have everything one could possibly need in life, even the superfluous. XD

Some of the possible choices of presents my girl and I could buy:
- GPS devices for our own cars (alt modes);
- audio and video accessories for our house and for the kids (mp3 players, etc.);
- camping stuff for the kids when they go boyscouting;
- Bluetooth headsets for Galt and Turboroad (our kids); a pair each. ^^

I guess that's plenty, isn't it? :) Hehe, it's always like that when it comes to Christmas holidays, but hey! we got to treat ourselves sometimes in the year, right? ^^ Happy upcoming holidays to everyone!!

Here at Robocity, all us citizens are getting busy around a campaign of "computer recycling" as many of us can't afford a computer. Practically, people who want to throw their computers away they'll simply donate them to us, and we provide services in return for free (babysitting, cooking, school tutoring, etc.). So far, people have been satisfied with the campaign, so it'll be going on until January 2010 I believe. :) This way, we can provide our children and their schools with computers, and people get helpful services in return. It's heartful donating to each other, which is always wonderful, and in full spirit with the upcoming Christmas holidays. We should do this more often. ^_^

Directories help spread your blog around the Web

Believe it or not, out of all this SEO reading and studying, the most important tip that I learned so far is that the first thing we need to do to widen our blog readership and rankings is submitting our blog to a SEO friendly web directory. This is important because Google, Yahoo and the other major search engines do crawl links from directories, as they are considered a most genuine and up to date source for new content. There are many types of directories, essentially FREE and PAID ones: if you're a blogger at his/her first experience - like me - it may be good to submit your site to a free web directory like Jasmine, Max, Yahoo, DMOZ directories and so on. The Yahoo directory is authoritative and efficient in its 'relationship' with other search engines and the Web in general, so that's another very good starting point to begin with.
Just keep in mind one thing: for directories to be an efficient tool of advertising your blog and spread the word about it, you must update your blog regularly, and as often as possible, as directories will show up your site activity and possibly rank it based on that factor. Also, working on backlinks and Alexa rank is important to get the first positions on some blog directory; and you know it, first positions are the most clicked by users (medium web users use the first 3 pages of a search engine or directory results, they get tired after that).
As you can see, there can be a lot of thought behind a blog or site submission to a directory, and surely there are even more purposes behind the action. :) Keep your goals in mind when you submit your site to a service, evaluate the pros and cons and remember that nothing will happen on its own: YOU own your blog's destiny in your hands!

Keep your goals in mind when you submit your site to a service, evaluate the pros and cons and remember that nothing will happen on its own: YOU own your blog’s destiny in your hands!

I was told by one of my friends and fellow co-residents in Robocity about a new blog advertising program, and I willingly joined it since my passion for writing - especially on blogs - is growing more and more as I update my blogs every day. ^^ This new program is called BlogAdvertisingStore, and it joins a nice and clean design with a very efficient panel for both bloggers and advertisers. Though, they don't just offer this service, but also a blog with a handful of advice and tips on how to be better bloggers and advertisers, and what it means to run an ethical blog.

I especially like their blog post titled "Best Blog Advertising Methods to Bring in Traffic", because it's filled with awesome suggestions to get more traffic and rankings to our blogs. :) My advice to you all dear friends is to go there and read from the first line to the last one, because it's all things that we can start working on everyday to improve our blogs. Another good source for SEO e-learning is Wikipedia, where detailes guides are added every week and which are constantly updated by SEO and advertising experts.

I'm really getting hooked on SEO techniques. :) Call me silly, but I really find it all very interesting, entertaining and challenging, and I'm determined to learn more about it. Also, I'm getting the ex-Leader Primus to help me with it, because he's going through the same challenge as me (he owns a blog too, Alle.fr.nf ). Can't wait to get started, guys!

Robocity: ADSL Troubles

The connection here in Robocity has been pretty awful these last three months. Our Leaders are doing their best to get a better ADSL connection to widen the city LAN but it's not easy seen our current budget, and surely it might take up some other months to get fixed. So, my dear friends, please accept my apologies if I cannot update, or reply to your tags and comments on some days of the week: I don't have accessible Internet everyday. :( And cellphone Internet is WAY too costy to even be an option. Today I'm lucky because I'm getting full ADSL speed, so I'm trying to update as much as I can, because next week might be trouble again. Unfortunately, it's been happening every week now, so I'm expecting it for granted.
